Commission president Barroso has set out his vision for Europe 2020. He feels we should be heading for a smarter, greener, sustainable market economy in which knowledge will be the key input. This requires a new common agenda.
As a follow-up of the Lisbon strategy, building on its successes, but also dealing with its shortcomings, the Commission therefore prepares a new strategy: EU2020.

This new strategy will be proposed early next year, but in the meantime the Commission has launched a broad consultation on their new EU2020 strategy.

On the webpage http://ec.europa.eu/eu2020/ the consultation document can be found, together with instructions on how to submit a contribution. The consultation will be closed on 15 January 2010.
